Restoration of the floodplain is finished!
The final milling of the stubs and twig cleaning is done!
Restored 13 hectares of the flooded meadows, flooded by the restored Laeva River and Emajõgi River, will be very valuable habitat for the fish. The restored spawning and nursery grounds will support the viability of the fish populations in a very large Peipsi Lake - Emajõgi - Lake Võrtsjärv system. Fishing has a great importance for very numerous group of local and wider people. Also, maintained floodplains are very important for the biodiversity. |
